A steel finned tube radiator is a convection heat exchanger with a steel base and metal fins welded or press-fitted onto the outside of the tube wall. The heat medium (steam, hot water, or thermal oil) circulates within the internal pipes, and heat is transferred through the tube wall to the fins, where it exchanges heat with the air via convection, thus achieving heat dissipation for the space or process.
Main Structure of a Steel Finned Tube Radiator
Base Tube: Made of carbon steel or stainless steel round tube, possessing good strength, pressure resistance, and thermal conductivity.
Finals: Commonly available in spiral, straight, curved, or three-row forked shapes, welded or press-fitted onto the outer wall of the base tube, significantly increasing the heat dissipation area.
Support Frame: A steel frame supports the tube bundle, ensuring overall rigidity and facilitating installation.
Working principle of steel finned tube radiators: The heat medium flows inside the tubes, transferring heat to the tube walls; the fins diffuse the heat to the outer surface of the tubes, and air flows between the fins, creating convection and carrying away heat, thus achieving heat exchange.
